Royal Oaks Park

The first park in the Monterey County Parks system, Royal Oaks Park is an excellent place for a family gathering, a softball game or a day hike.

Day Use

Royal Oaks Park is a perfect location for a family outing. It has playground equipment, a softball field, horseshoe facilities and basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.

Royal Oaks Park has small picnic sites for general use, all of which have tables and grills, all of which are near restroom facilities. There are also four group picnic areas at Royal Oaks Park available for rental. Each group area is near restroom facilities and has at least one barbecue pit. The Live Oak Group area allows alcohol with permits and insurance and is available if you wish to hold a Royal Oaks Park wedding.

Hiking

If you have an interest in light hiking, Royal Oaks Park is ideal. Royal Oaks Park offers seven short trails, each providing beautiful views of the park's woodland setting.

Overnight Camping

Royal Oaks Park is available to organized youth groups only for overnight camping. Camping facilities include restrooms, picnic tables and a fire ring. Contact Monterey County Parks at 888-588-CAMP or 831-755-4899 for more information.

Directions and Maps

From the Monterey Peninsula, take Route 1 North to Route 156 East. Take exit 337 onto San Miguel Canyon Road. Take a right on Echo Valley Road and a left on Maher Road. Royal Oaks Park will be on your right.

From Route 101 South, turn right on Echo Valley Road. Turn right on Maher Road. Royal Oaks Park will be on your right.

From Route 101 North, turn left on Echo Valley Road. Turn right on Maher Road. Royal Oaks Park will be on your right.
