The Otter Student Union (OSU) at Cal State Monterey Bay is a student-centered 501c3 nonprofit organization. The OSU's mission is to be the heartbeat of campus and a bridge to surrounding communities, providing spaces, opportunities, and advocacy that cultivate belonging reflective of CSUMB's founding vision. Looking to meet with a group, host a conference, create video production for a commercial, or find support for your blended event? Look no further than the Otter Student Union! The Otter Student Union (OSU) offers Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB) students, staff, faculty and external clients the opportunity to reserve a variety of spaces for meetings, events, and more. The OSU is an ideal setting for conferences, activities, and special events due to its centralized location on the CSUMB campus, various event amenities, and onsite catering services. The Otter Student Union offers many different spaces and areas to fit a variety of needs. Our divisible OSU Ballroom, an impressive 6,000 sq ft space (1,100 standing capacity and 550 seated), is completely flexible to fit any and all event needs, including options for live-streaming events to create virtual engagement opportunities. The OSU has industry-standard production equipment including trussing, lighting, sound, and mixing equipment. Our flexible stage can be set up to accommodate a variety of requests. Host an outdoor movie, tabling event, concert, or whatever you can imagine on our beautiful plaza conveniently located near ample parking. Our large and medium conference rooms, ranging from 400-700 sq ft, can be completely set to your needs and are pre-set with comfortable chairs and a webcam. Not only are visitors able to use the free wifi, but all our conference rooms are equipped with digital screens, video projection, and have hybrid capabilities.
