Attention all ocean enthusiasts for the 14th Annual Whalefest Monterey, where the wonders of the deep blue meet the curious minds of land-dwellers, on Saturday and Sunday, April 13-14, 2024. Whalefest Monterey is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Monterey Bay at Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Stanton Center and Custom House Plaza.

Whalefest Monterey – Interactive Displays – Saturday, April 13

Whalefest Monterey will feature over three dozen educational and engaging interactive displays from local, regional and national non-profits. Stop by and talk with well-informed organization representatives.

Whalefest Dee the Whale - Save the Whales

In addition, Save the Whales returns with Dee, the 43-foot inflatable whale model on Saturday only.  You can go inside of it and see its internal organs! Also, see “Gracie" the 30-foot real gray whale skeleton from Mission Science Workshop in San Francisco.

Several research and rescue boats will be open for public tours, including the return of the Western Flyer (Sunday only), Current’ Sea, Pearl and NOAA’s Fulmar (Saturday only).

Whalefest Monterey Symposium at the Stanton Center – Sunday, April 14

Dive into the vast ocean of knowledge with Dan Haifley, the Whalefest Monterey Symposium MC as he guides us through a day filled with insights from eight esteemed speakers in the world of marine research and ocean conservation, with topics focusing on otters, sharks, whale entanglement and much more.
